Yesterday, When I Was Young by Shirley Bassey

******

Yesterday, When I Was Young
sung by Shirley Bassey

Yesterday when I was young
The taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue
I teased at life as if it were a foolish game
The way the evening breeze may tease the candle flame

The thousand dreams I dreamed
The splendid things I've planned
I always built, alas, a weak and shifting sand
I lived by night and shunned the naked light of day
And only now I see how the years ran away

Yesterday when I was young
So many lovely songs were waiting to be sung
So many wayward pleasures lay in store for me
And so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see

I ran so fast the time and youth at last ran out
I never stopped to think what life was all about
And every conversation I can now recall
Concerned itself with me, and nothing else at all

Yesterday the moon was blue
And every crazy day brought something new to do
I used my magic age as if it were a wand
I never saw the waste and emptiness beyond

The game of love I played with arrogance and pride
And every flame I lit too quickly, quickly died
The friends I made all seemed somehow to drift away
And only I am left on stage to end the play

There are so many songs in me that won't be sung
I feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongue
The time has come for me
To pay for yesterday
When I was young

Yesterday when I was young
So many lovely songs were waiting to be sung
So many wayward pleasures lay in store for me
And so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see

Yesterday when I was young
So many lovely songs were waiting to be sung
So many wayward pleasures lay in store for me
And so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see

Yesterday when I was young
So many lovely songs were waiting to be sung . . .

The Story of A Forgotten Son

One day, a father told his youngest boy, that he once lived alone. He has 2 siblings. Altogether, there were three of them. But the father lived alone. His mother loved the second child more, while his father loved the eldest. So, the father stood by himself. Nobody cared much for him.

The boy starts to ponder, he thinks that he is facing the same experience. He also lives by himself. His father cares the 2 elders more. If the boy makes only a simple mistake, he will be scolded more by his father, and his father will get angry. But if the 2 brothers make a big mistake, forgiveness is always be to them. But what makes a difference is, the boy's mother cares for him much. Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, that at least he has someone that cares for him. (^_^)

The best thing for the boy is, he needs to be an independent boy. He must start a new life of his own. So, he will make a move. Perhaps, leaving for studies.

Friendship is...

.

"Friendship is delicate as a glass, once broken it can be fixed but there will always be cracks."
Somehow, I really agree with this quotes. Whenever we were hurt by someone, especially our own friends, it is like a glass, that is broken. Even though, there is always forgiveness, like a glass can be fixed, but it will never be the same again, as there will always be cracks on the glass. So, choose to not to hurt a friend, not to hurt YOUR OWN FRIEND. Don't, not even once. If can't, at least try to.

We Once Were One: A Story Of Classmate

WE ONCE WERE ONE
The day that we first met,
in my mind I still see,
you sitting in the class room, looking for some company.
I alone myself, sat down with you that day,
neither of us knowing what the hell to say.
But we got through the awkward times, and quickly came to be,
the best of friends to eachother, we could ever be.
The closer we grew, the more we left, the other world behind,
just me and you we jumped into a new place totally blind.
We prayed together our friendship forever, and always would stay the same,
but time has passed, only memories last, and little friendship remains.
WE ONCE WERE ONE! I screamed at you, I want my best friend back!
But we both realized at once it was that bond we lacked.
You think it doesn't hurt me, to see us back to two,
looking to my left and right to see there is no you.
But we both are moving on now, lets do it gracefully,
I hope our friendship still lives on in you memory.

I found this friendship poetry just now. I was so into it. It really touched me at the bottom of my heart. It reminds me of a school-friend of mine (it was... once). There were three of us. We were classmates Whenever and wherever, we are meant to be together. No matter where we go (to the cafeteria, laboratory, school-office, library, classes and etc.), we always go together. And some called us as "Three Musketeers".
But, this one (one of us)... I knew him before, he was such a pleasant guy. He cared for others. He cared for me. And every time when I was in trouble, he would not just ask what is the problem. Besides, he will think up something appropriate, and will do it for me. Oh, how great to have a friend like him, right? We always did online chatting with each other. We shared things and many more. But, unfortunately that was once. (ە˘_˘ە)

Nowadays, I found out that he no longer cares about me. I see that he no longer wants to be friend of mine. And as for my observation, he is such a choosy in friendship. He no longer contacts me. No longer text-messages me. I think, he has forgot me, for sure. I don't know if I got this wrong, maybe this only my self-side feeling. But, that was what I observed.

I am really sad with what had happened. But I will never forget him though. I never regret that I was once had a friend like him. He as a friendship will always stay in my memory. And I think, he is no longer my friend. He is only my ex-classmate. Whatever happened, I always hope that he will always happy/have fun/have a nice day in his life. And, I hope he will always success in pursuing his dreams. Plus, I will never forget his good offices. So long...

An Evening With Kway Teow For Two

26th of March 2009 (Thursday)

Assalamualaikum, and a very good day to you all, guys.

We meet again in my next post. Thank you for keep reading my posts. I really appreciate you all.

On 26th of March (Thursday), the same day, after I had finished with my driving-test, I had a ''date'' with my friend in the evening. She is actually a counselor in the school of mine.
We went to one of the famous "kway teow kerang (cockles)" stalls, located in Simpang Kuala, ermm... I think. I don't know the actual name of the location... haha. Because, she was the one who drove me there.

The fried "kway teow kerang" was really nice and delicious that I could eat it more than one dish. But, I would not do that and please don't do that if it is not necessary (not nice). Like some people said, "...makan sebelum lapar, berhenti sebelum kenyang...". This statement is true though.

Do you know what is kway teow? Kway teow literally "flat noodles" is a popular noodle in Malaysia and Singapore. This noodle is best served as char kway teow, literally "fried flat noodles". But in Malaysia, char kway teow is served as soaked fried kway teow. While, fried kway teow is another dish that is served in dried one. But actually, char kway teow means fried kway teow.

The term "Char kway teow" is a transliteration of the Chinese characters "炒粿條", based on the Min Nan spoken variation of the Chinese language. More precisely, "炒粿條" is pronounced as chhá-kóe-tiâu in Min Nan, and cháo guǒtiáo in Mandarin. (credited to Wikipedia)

But, as an advice, please don't take fried kway teow too often. Because, it has a reputation of being unhealthy due to its high saturated fat content.

Wah! Dah lari tajuk ni... hehe. Sorry.

All in all, I really had a good time with her. She is such a pleasant woman, who really cares about others, and we always share stories to each other. She is also such a good listener. Thank you so much, may Allah bless you always.

I hope this moment will come again, even though tomorrow will never be the same again as today. This memory will always stay in my heart. (*^_^*)

Good day, bubbye.

Driving-test Day: Worth Long Waiting For

26th of March 2009.

Assalamualaikum and good day, guys.

Guess what, guys? I passed my driving-test! Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah ta'ala. You know what, the few days before the driving-test day, I was very afraid, that I hardly ate. I lost my appetite. And I was having butterflies in my stomach. But, alhamdulillah, it was all went through as smooth as silk. Just wanna let you guys know, I went to the driving-school at 8.00 a.m., and my name was announced at about 10.45 a.m.. Fuuhh, it was a really long wait. And I started my driving-test at nearly 1.00 p.m.. I was the 179th driving-test candidates. While I was waiting for my turn, I watched the other candidates doing their driving-test. Some had passed it, and some had failed. While I was watching them, my heart beat so fast. I was very afraid, and it worried me so much. At about 1.00pm, my number was announced. And I had to start my driving-test now. The part that I was afraid so much is the mendaki bukit part. I had to drive and make sure the car's front tyres are on the yellow line. That was a very challenging part though. But I know that I had practice many time and I will try my best. And, there you go... I passed. (*^_^*) After that, I had to do the parking test. This part is simple, if you follow all the step-by-step correctly. And alhamdulillah, I made it successfully. After all was done, I had to take the driving-test form to the registration counter, and I had to wait again, for the on-the-road test.

I began the on-the-road test at about 1.30 pm. Frankly speaking, I hate my tester. He hardly smiled, hardly talked and I hate the way he gave me his look. Like a lion.... hehe. He thinks that he is handsome enough, HAH???? Urrghh... whatever. As long as I passed the test. Hahaha.

One thing that is proven today is, "practice makes perfect". This idiom is true. The more you practice, the better you will become. And, the better you can do. And it always takes time for you to practice to be perfect. We human-being could not be perfect, but at least try to be one. And we must be patient in everything. And today, I learned that patience is always worth everything.

Thanks for reading, have a nice day. I am really glad to share with you all, guys. Later then... bubbye. (*^_^*)
